Musharaf spent his early childhood years not in Pakistan but in Turkey. He and his family remained in the country for 7 years and during his stay, he learned to speak Turkish fluently.

Pevez Musharaf has participated in all three of the major wars between India and Pakistan. He was part of the artillery regiment during the war of 1965 and was awarded Imtiazi-Sanad medal for his gallantry. In the 1971 war, he was company commander of a SSG commando battalion. He was also a leading strategist behind the Kargil Conflict of 1999.
His favorite food
The former dictator has a particular liking for south Indian cuisine which he shares with his wife. Dishes like dosa, kachori,and idlis are all his favorites. His favorite sweet dish is Gulab Jamun.
