1.Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Apples –This healthy sweet and savory snack will become your best friend. Peel, core, and chop 6 apples and two large sweet potatoes. Place them in a pot of boiling water and cook until tender. Drain well, mash with some of the cooking water and season with sweet spices such as cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. (serves 4)
2.Apple Chutney: Want to add some taste in your daily diet? Combine 2 chopped apples, 1/2 chopped red onion, 1 teaspoon minced ginger, 1 teaspoon garlic, 1 small tomato sugar and vinegar. Cook until the apples are tender. That will take about 15 minutes.
3.Sweet Peanut Butter Apple Slices – This is a great kids’ snack and can be made with any kind of nut.Core one medium-sized apple. Spread each slice with a thin layer of peanut butter and stick three to four golden raisins on top. Throw them in oven until golden brown.
4. Apple Date Oatmeal – Core and chop one small apple and place it in a small saucepan along with 1 ½ cups water, ½ cup unsweetened almond milk, two chopped pitted dates and a cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for five minutes. Add 1 cup of oats, bring to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, for ten more minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick before serving.
5.Apple Iced Tea – Bring a small saucepan of water to a boil, add two tea bags and wait for 2 minutes, remove and squeeze tea bags. Add honey or sugar stirring well in the water. Add enough ice, 1 cup apple juice and several lemon slices to it and stir.
